Châtel boasts one of the best snow records in Europe, but it isn’t the highest ski resort in the World – with the resort at 1250m and the skiing reaching about 2000m, rising to 2500m in neighboring Avoriaz. After almost three weeks of perfect blue sky days the snow has returned with over one meter of fresh snow falling on Saturday and another half meter on Sunday, making the last three days some of the best powder days of the season. Conditions at the moment are perfect on all slopes and off piste.

It’s the busiest time of the season with half term holidays all over Europe but conditions could not be better. It’s been another fantastic week in Châtel with 40cm of fresh snow on Thursday, making Friday and Saturday almost perfect blue sky powder days. Following two large snowfalls last week and another 10cm today, the snow conditions are excellent on all the slopes of Châtel. The off-piste skiing is variable, and was quite heavily tracked over the weekend, however there are still plenty of fresh lines if you are willing to walk.   The snow depth on upper slopes
