Choose from the 650km of pistes in the Portes du Soleil, from pretty tree lined runs to wide, open pistes that take you travelling on a different route every day. We highly recommend ‘the circuit’ which is a great day skiing easy reds and cruisy blues through 7 resorts and two countries.

Steep couloirs, large powder bowls, jump parks and some challenging mogul runs – Châtel offers some of the best off piste skiing in the Porte du Soleil. No matter how hard you want to go, you won’t be disappointed. Châtel and the Portes du Soleil are great for snowboarding with many designated jump parks, boardercross runs and freestyle areas, as well as limitless off piste – from cruisey powder bowls to narrow couloirs. Also growing in popularity in the area is split boarding – enabling boarders to reach some amazing backcountry and challenging descents.

For non-skiers the area has plenty more to offer such as cross-country tracks, fantastic snowshoe walking, ice skating and even husky rides. Further afield you’ll find a choice of relaxing thermal spas and the NINE & TENNE team will be happy to arrange massage or beauty treatments for you at your chalet. Châtel itself is a pretty alpine village with shops, restaurants and other attractions for non-skiers.
